Polar bear plunge!

Our family has some funny little traditions.

Andrew found the raisin in his oatmeal this morning. Jim asked him what special thing should happen today because he discovered the "prized" raisin. His suggestion?

His daddy take a dip in the lake.

He strongly suggested that the children join him~(my excuse being I was holding a camera)~but there was a bit of resistance~

Way to go brave Daddy!

A lot colder than one would like~perhaps because the lake was still frozen two weeks ago~

The children bravely followed~

Run away, Andrew, Run. It's cold!

And all for a raisin.

Way to go you guys!

Very creative Andrew! And brave Jim and the girls! I can imagine how cold that must have been! Yikes.

Jim, Lisa, and the Crew: We're so excited about the unanimous vote of the elders to recommend you to the saints of TBC! We enjoyed the brief time that we shared in getting to know you a bit better and were very blessed by your testimonies and by Jim's wonderful exposition of the word. I can see your grandfather - and you - waiving that hanky and shouting "preach the word!" What an inspiring moment that is obviously resonating through the decades and still impacting lives! We're praying you will be here soon and look forward to getting to know you better! In His Love, Chris, Shannon, Christopher, Caleb, Elizabeth, Christianna, Cory, and Joey Thrutchley.

Oklahoma is on the way to Texas, so maybe I could persuade James to road trip to visit his family again, and then we could stop by--assuming you might be there?

Brr! Brr! Jim is a good sport, but we already knew that.

I'd like to hear how your homeschool year went. I'll get to your email soon, but first, I need to get out of my pajamas--lazy homeschool mother. (Rachel doesn't feel too hot today, so it's EXTRA lazy mom!)

Let's hope that next time, you don't put a whole handfull of raisins in the morning's cereal!!

Tells you where this warm-blooded kids of ours get it from! Norway, Sweden, here we come! :)
