Afternoon at the Harris home~

We spent the afternoon and evening today with our friends Adrian, Fiona, Anna, Rachel and Kirsten. We enjoyed a lovely meal (as always Fiona!) and Jim was treated with a very special gift, HAGGIS!!!

Fiona had agreed to try Peanut Butter and Jelly at our home, in return, Jim promised to try some Haggis. What is Haggis? Here's what Wikipedia says:

"Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish.

There are many recipes, most of which have in common the following ingredients: sheep's 'pluck' (heart, liver and lungs), minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices and salt, mixed with stock, and traditionally boiled in the animal's stomach for approximately three hours."

Delicious. At least that's what the Harris family thinks. We, well, we TRIED it~

After some lovely desserts, we also played cards (the four adults that is) where the U.K. soundly beat the U.S., much to the United States chagrin. Adrian very kindly sent me the below picture, so we could remember the scores for posterity sake. How kind~

Thank you friends!

Haggis and defeat. Makes me wish I were there. Hee hee. But, seeing the family again is a treat, even if it is just a picture. What is A wearing? Doesn't look very Scottish.

We prayed for you and your van selling last night at Prayer Meeting. Drew (our pastor) also shared some about Hershey E-Free, how it is a good, solid church and that the pastor who was there was the founding pastor of the church and had been there over 30 years. Wow.

I'm off to visit my mom today. Well, we all are, except the ones at camp. We usually spend the night when we visit, but David has CPR class tomorrow, E has to work all afternoon as a mother's helper, and James is going to an all-day conference in Pittsburgh. Maybe I'll get a movie...hmmm. Maybe not. I forgot that I have to pick the campers up in the late evening.

Have a great day. Not too many English days left.
